Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, mezzo-soprano Elmina Hasan is rapidly emerging on the international stage.

Recent highlights include Olga in Eugene Onegin at La Scala, Adalgisa in Norma at Staatsoper Berlin, Marchesa Melibea in Il Viaggio in Reims at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Fenena in Nabucco at Teatro Verdi Trieste and at Paris Salle Gaveau with Plácido Domingo, Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana at Bayerische Staatsoper, and Dorabella in Così fan Tutte at the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera.

Future engagements include her debut at Wiener Staatsoper as Carmen, Fenena in Nabucco and Maddalena in Rigoletto at Bayerische Staatsoper, and Charlotte in Werther at Gran Teatre del Liceu.

In 2023, she joined the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

She won First Prize at the Opera Crown Tbilisi, Black Sea Competition, and Second Price in Plácido Domingo “OPERALIA”, as well as the Pepita Embil and the Rolex Audience prizes, amongst others.
