Gile Bae was born in 1994 in Capelle aan den Ijssel, Netherlands. She made her debut in South Korea as a soloist with a concert for piano and orchestra in Haydn's C Major when she was just five years old and at the age of six she enrolled at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. She won the first Dutch awards "International Steinway & Sons Piano Competition" in 2000, and was later chosen to represent Holland at the "International Steinway & Sons Festival" perfoming at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg. In 2017 she recorded the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach, and shortly afterwards became a Bösendorfer Artist. In season 2020-21 she was invited by Sir Andràs Schiff to participate in his Building Bridges series.
