Leonhard Baumgartner, born in Vienna in 2007, is a major prizewinner of renowned competitions, among these are the 1st Prize at the Zhuhai International Mozart Competition, 1st Prize and Special Prize at the International Ilona Fehér Competition, the 1st Prize, Grand Prix and Audience Award at the Osaka International Music Competition, Discovery Award of the ICMA Awards. In August 2024 Leonhard won the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition. At the age of 15, he made his debut with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra at Wiener Konzerthaus. A recent recording features him in the World Premiere Recording of Mozart's newly discovered Serenade Ganz kleine Nachtmusik K.648 for Deutsche Grammophon and Stage+.

Season 25/26 appearances are e.g. a collaboration with Mozarteumorchester Salzburg at Festspielhaus Salzburg, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic, debuts at Musikverein Wien, Isarphilharmonie München.
Leo is also scholarship holder of the Liechtenstein Music Academy, offering him intensive studies and concert engagements. Earlier this year Leonhard has recorded Mendelssohn and Ravel piano trios at BR-Studios in Munich, which will be released soon.
Leo performed in Kronberg with Gidon Kremer, Gary Hoffman and Lawrence Power at the festival "Chamber Music Connects the World".
His studies are supported by the Nina Gscheider & Florian Schwarz Scholarship of the Stretton Society, through which he is admitted in the mentoring program with Vilde Frang. Leonhard plays a violin of Antonio Stradivari, "Ex Petherick" (Cremona, 1683). The loan was made possible by a member of the Stretton Society.
