Roman Borisov

A prize-winner of more than a dozen of prestigious international competitions, Roman Borisov's first prize at the Vladimir Krainev Third Moscow International Piano Competition (2019) contributed to the launch of his international career.

At present the 19-year-old pianist’s concert experience includes performances at famous venues such as the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall (Moscow), the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Concert Hall of the Louis Vuitton Foundation (Paris), Tonhalle Zurich, Konzerthaus Berlin, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Moscow International Art Center. A special place in Borisov’s repertoire belongs to piano concerti. His musical background includes piano concerti by Brahms, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Beethoven and Mozart.

As a soloist, Roman Borisov performed with multiple renowned orchestras, including the State Academic Symphony Orchestra named after Evgeny Svetlanov, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Novosibirsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, the Orpheum Supporters Orchestra (Switzerland). He has collaborated with world-famous conductors including Vladimir Spivakov, Alexander Sladkovsky, Howard Griffiths, Thomas Sanderling.Roman Borisov was born in 2003 in Novosibirsk. From 2007 to 2020 he studied in the class of a famous Novosibirsk pianist and teacher, Professor Mery Lebenzon (1931–2020); and graduated from the Novosibirsk Special Music School in 2021.

He is an alumnus of the Summer Academy of the Verbier Festival (2019), where he won the Tabor Foundation Award as the best graduate of the Piano section. At the Academy he took part in master classes of Sir Andras Schiff, Klaus Helwig, Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, Joaquin Achucarro and Sergey Babayan.Roman Borisov is currently a student of the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin (Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin), class of one of the most sought after Professor Eldar Nebolsin.

Roman Borisov's creative engagements today also includes participation in prestigious international festivals such as Verbier Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Ruhr Piano Festival (Klavier Festival Ruhr), Flagey Piano Days. His performances of Rachmaninoff's works at the Ruhr Piano Festival (2021) were included in their annual CD release.
