Soprano and Violin Recital

About this video

Now playing in this video: 🎵 György Kurtág: "Kafka Fragments, Op. 24 for soprano and violin"

Dmitry Smirnov joins forces with soprano in Kurtág's "Kafka Fragments, Op. 24", a haunting cycle of aphoristic miniatures drawn from Kafka's diaries and letters. Spare, intense, and emotionally raw, the work distills vast expressive worlds into fleeting, fragmentary gestures for violin and voice.
